Thank you for your interest in the Independent Energy Producers Association (IEP).
IEP is California's leading trade association representing the interests of developers and operators of independent energy facilities, as well as independent power marketers. IEP has been active in representing the interests of the industry before California's regulatory commissions, the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC), and the legislature since 1982. Our primary goals are to safeguard the interests of new and currently operating independent energy projects, and ensure that California remains a healthy and vibrant market for continued operation and development.
California's independent energy industry continues to face major regulatory and market challenges. Meeting these challenges requires a strong, unified voice, and IEP is that industry-wide voice.
IEP provides the independent energy industry with a unified voice in addressing legislative matters. IEP has been successful in fighting off legislation designed to harm the interests of independent generation in California (SB-888, AB-2006).
IEP is a membership driven organization and our primary funding support is in the form of revenue derived from membership dues. When issues or proceedings require special attention and involvement of consultants, Special Funds are established and funded by targeted contributions through the IEP committees. These Special Funds afford member companies guaranteed representation in specific regulatory issues or proceedings affecting their facilities, planned projects, or market positions.
Throughout the year IEP interacts with its members through a variety of forums. Weekly conference calls are held to manage day-to-day activities of the industry. Our policy setting body, the IEP Board, meets monthly, with one policy planning retreat each year. In addition, in the fall of each year, IEP holds an Annual Meeting that is open to the public. Conference topics center around subjects of topical interest with discussion panels comprised of industry experts providing up to date information and debate.
IEP's efforts will have significant impact on the success of your existing facilities, future projects, and market opportunities. We welcome your participation and involvement in IEP, which will strengthen our industry-wide voice.
