The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced the 2017 Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) Phase I Release 1 topics, including two subtopics focused on hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. The fuel cell subtopic includes novel, durable supports for low-platinum group metal catalysts for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells. The hydrogen delivery subtopic focuses on metal hydride materials for compression.

The Energy Department’s Water Power Program intends to issue a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) to construct a national wave energy test facility inside U.S. federal or state waters. To support the full-scale testing of MHK wave energy devices, up to $40 million in funding will be provided to fund development and construction activities for a grid-connected wave test facility capable of independently and simultaneously testing at least three wave energy devices.

FY17 SBIR Phase I Release 1 Topics Announced: Includes Fuel Cell Catalysts and Hydrogen Delivery

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) has announced the 2017 Small Business Innovation Research and Small Business Technology Transfer (SBIR/STTR) Phase I Release 1 topics, including two subtopics focused on hydrogen and fuel cell technologies. The fuel cell subtopic includes novel, durable supports for low-platinum group metal catalysts for polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells. The hydrogen delivery subtopic focuses on metal hydride materials for compression.

Notice of Intent: Wave Energy Test Facility Inside U.S. Waters

The Energy Department’s Water Power Program intends to issue a Funding Opportunity Announcement (FOA) to construct a national wave energy test facility inside U.S. federal or state waters. To support the full-scale testing of MHK wave energy devices, up to $40 million in funding will be provided to fund development and construction activities for a grid-connected wave test facility capable of independently and simultaneously testing at least three wave energy devices.
